Susan Hilferty (Set and Costume Designer) has designed over 350 productions across the globe including the United States, UK, Japan, Ireland, Australia, Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Spain, Germany, and South Africa. Directorial collaborators include Athol Fugard (set /costumes /co-director), Yaël Farber (set /costumes), Michael Mayer, Rebecca Taichman, James Lapine, Robert Woodruff, Joe Mantello, Joanne Akalaitis, Oskar Eustis, Anne Bogart, Doug Wright, Frank Galati, Des McAnuff, Richard Nelson, Selina Cartmell, Laurie Anderson, Tony Kushner and Garry Hynes. Recent work: Sets/Costumes: Hamlet St. Ann’s Warehouse; Blood Wedding Young Vic, London; Boesman and Lena Signature Theatre. Costumes: Traviata Metropolitan Opera. Her numerous awards include Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for Wicked, USITT Lifetime Achievement Award, and Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award, an OBIE for Sustained Excellence in Design and the Ruth Morley Design Award from the League of Professional Theatre Women.
