Elsa Ward

Elsa Ward has designed costumes for both theater and television for more than 20 years and has many years of experience initiating and executing creative projects in the arts, beauty and education fields. She holds an MFA from Rutgers University and membership in United Scenic Artists IATSE Local 829.

 

With the support of The Actors Fund Creative Entrepreneurship program, Elsa developed Open Stage Project in 2018 in response to the dire need for increasing the number of women working professionally backstage. 

 

Elsa is a member of the Media, Technology and Design commission with the Career and Technical Education ( CTE) schools with the NYC Department of Education. As a commission member, she works in collaboration with the NYC Department of Education and NYC theatrical production companies to educate, engage and support high school women who are interested in pursuing careers in the backstage theatrical arts.
